Thisproject draws part of its motivesfrom“Abfillage”; a
portmanteau of Abstract, collage and figurative art which is an art
production technique I amassociated with. The first ever fusion of
basic color abstraction, figurative and collage art in a single
sculptural piece basically made out of paper pulp and possibly other recycled materials. The purpose of these Abfillage sculptures are
basically to create sculptures made out of newspapers but durable
and strong enough to withstand external weather conditions at the same time document and create conceptual art out of it.
By creating unique lightweight sculptures with great tensile and compressive strength, it puts my art practice on a new stage by giving the audience something different to engage with.
