This work examines how the human body absorbs and responds to the constant flow of national narratives. Constructed from Nigerian newspapers, the surrounding surface carries stories of progress, conflict, loss, and resilience often unfolding simultaneously. Rather than illustrating these events, the work registers their psychological impact. The central figure is structurally rearranged like a puzzle, with elements displaced and reassembled. This reconfiguration reflects a condition in which perception is no longer stable; even vision is relocated, suggesting that seeing and understanding are affected by continuous exposure to contradictory information. The body becomes a site where news is not processed intellectually, but endured physically. The figure’s restrained posture and contained expression convey neither despair nor optimism, but suspension. The work presents the body as an archive under pressure, holding together despite instability.
